Link+ brings Sunday Star-Times to life this Sunday
On the 23rd September, the Sunday Star-Times comes to life with the launch of Link+, an innovative augmented reality feature which provides rich previously unavailable content direct to the readers of Fairfax Media's print publications via the Stuff app.
Editor of the Sunday Star-Times David Kemeys says he's thrilled to be able to provide richer content to its readers. "Typically our journalists and photographers gather vast amounts of content in preparing a story - far more than we could ever print. Link+ allows us to showcase that content and further enhance the reader's connection with the story."
In this Sunday's paper, Link+ will be available on stories in the Escape and Focus sections. Readers should look out for the Link+ logo on the photographs of featured images. All readers need to do is scan the image using the latest version of the Stuff app for Android or iOS.
Fairfax Media Group Digital Editor Sinead Boucher agrees Link+ is an exciting development. "We have so much rich, in-depth content gathered by our enormous news gathering machine. To be able to share that with our customers, particularly in a way that brings our print and digital brands together, is something we're all very proud of."
In addition to augmenting stories, Link+ will also provide advertisers with a unique way of extending their print advertising into a digital media experience. Barb Stone of MediaStone, said Rodd & Gunn are delighted to be the launch advertiser. "With Link+ we can take the reader from the printed page, advertising the arrival of our new season range, directly to our website to view the complete range. Better still, we can lead themstraight to purchase."
Link+ will be progressively rolled out across Fairfax Media's print brands to providereaders additional rich content about the things they love.
