Newspaper Details
One of the fastest growing regions in New Zealand, almost 90,000 people live in the Rodney Ward and on the Hibiscus Coast, accounting for 45% of greater Auckland's land area.
Within easy commuting distance of major employers the area has a stunning natural landscape, 1,426 kilometers of coastline and beautiful beaches.
The area offers a unique lifestyle alternative to inner-city living.
It includes Gulf Harbour, the Whangaparaoa Peninsula and Orewa the communities of Coatesville, Waitoki, Helensville, Kumeu/Huapai, Warkworth, Wellsford and a number of smaller coastal and inland settlements.

The Circulation area is from the northern boundary at Wellsford up to Mangawhai Heads, down to the southern Albany Heights boundary, including Kumeu, Helensville, Hibiscus Coast, Warkworth, Wellsford and the Kowhai Coast. Extended circulation every second Tuesday reaches further North and in to the Kaipara, covering Kaiwaka, Mangawhai, Maungaturoto and Paparoa.
Newspaper Display Advertising
Display advertising is located throughout the publication and utilises size, colour, illustration and typography to attract the reader's attention. Display advertising is primarily found in the editorial sections but can also be placed within classified sections if deemed appropriate and relevant.
You can request a preferred position within the newspaper for a fee or choose "run of paper" whereby the advertisement is placed in any position in the paper at our discretion. Opting for run of paper generally results in a reduced charge to an advertiser.
Classified Advertising
Classifieds are advertising only pages across a number of different categories e.g for sale, trade services or situations vacant.
Premium Positions
Advertisers are able to purchase front page solus positions, premium pages and loaded or specific positions, all subject to availability.
The Rodney Times runs their weekly Real Estate feature, "OUTLOOK" every Thursday. Both MREINZ and private home owners can be included in this feature.
Standard Sizes
Run of Paper display ads range from 10cm high x 7.5cm wide to a full page at 38cm high x 27cm wide.
Classified - Run-ons minimum of 4 lines to boxed ads with discounts available for regular volume advertising, colour classified ads are available.
Run of Paper (ROP)
The Rodney Times publishes ROP on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Sections are Local News with regular features on Health, Beauty, Business, Lifestyle, Sport, Education, Entertainment, Motoring and the Home.
Advertorials are available in the specific sections or features as noted above, with a minimum of 6 ads placed.
Other features include the quarterly Focus On Education and School Holiday features, plus twice yearly Home and Senior Lifestyles features, with yearly features such as Christmas.
Reader advertisements are also accepted, they must contain the following:
- - reader advertisements must be entirely contained within a ruled border
- - the text may be set in ordinary news type
- - the word ADVERTISEMENT must be set in 14pt capitals and in bold, and must be placed inside the border at the top left-hand corner of the advertisement or centred at the top.

Catalogues and flyers are distributed in the Rodney Times and delivered to letterboxes where junk mail and circulars are not permitted.

How to calculate a rate
The Rodney Times has a number of varying rate levels depending on volume and position in the paper.
Group buy rates are:
- - Auckland Regional Coverage, 10 papers
- - Auckland Metro Coverage, 8 papers
- - Any 5 Suburban Newspaper
Solus or special loading positions are available for an added percentage rate
The total amount is exclusive of gst
